I'm car shopping right now and I've seen a few 325s in my price range.
Are E30 bad when they get higher mileage on them 200-300k?
Do they break down a lot?

I've had my car 3 years, since just under 200km, it is at 245 now. The only "breakdown" i've had was the airflow meter, other than that, I've replaced a balljoint, blower motor, my exhaust from the cat back, and a gas tank. So really I cannot complain for a car that cost me 6k, about an extra 3k in reapirs in 3 years. Knock on wood the car has not had a problem in nearly a year. Right now I am a very happy e30 owner, I plan on investing about 5 grand into it, on new suspension and body work over the winter. Why? because I love my car, I could sell it and invest put 5 grand towards another car but what will I get? Something FWD, common, and no style of its own?

If the car has been well taken care of, it will last. I have 275,000km on mine and no major work has been done...aside from keeping up on regular maintinance. Oil changes, water pump, timing belt, trans fluid, diff fluid. Oh and not driving the shit out of the car....If good records have been kept and you know the work has been done, then you should be okay with it. :)

Same here from 320 to 418K km, only a water pump and ball joints....If the car was taken good care off, it will last a long time...
