Hi all,

I purchsed my 1997 540iA in April. Since then, I have been wonderfully surprised by the wealth of information and resources available on the Internet for E39 drivers.

The other day I posted a message in the E39 board at Roadfly (http://bimmer.roadfly.org/bmw/forums/e39/) calling on E39-ers in the Toronto/Ottawa/eastern Ontario area to send me their contact info if they were interested in forming a buying / support group. Including myself, I now have 6 people on this list. I thought I should extend this call to all Canadian E39-ers.

I have created a spreadsheet with some contact information for the people who responded to this call. I am also compiling a list of upgrades or modifications in which people are interested in performing on their cars. If you would like to get added to this spreadsheet or receive a copy of it then send me an email message.

I was thinking that one possibility for a Canadian E39-er group might be to negotiate on a bulk purchase of an accessory and save on (1) purchase price, (2) international shipping, and (3) brokerage. Some possible ideas for purchases might be:

- CAI
- M5 grilles
- lower mesh grille
- cup holders
- centre arm rest replacement

These are a few ideas off the top of my head.

In any case, send me a note if you're interested in getting on the list!

Cheers,

O.S.

I think we gotta join up boys. Nothing bad can happen :) and we might save a buck or two on some group buys.
I am in.

Paul, Quack, ///M5 ... other e39 owners .... what do you say?

I'm interested, just wondering who would intiate all of the group buys and such? And would they all be posted on here, or would we be contacted by email? what information in particular do you need?

Hi everyone,

Thanks very much for your interest in my posting!

I have added the names and information of all who replied to a :master; spreadsheet I have put together. I would be pleased to send this file to all of you. Please contact me at:

daniel.szpiro@sympatico.ca

We have started the ball rolling (sort of) on a group purchase for a lower mesh grille. Just this afternoon I contacted a vendor in the US (eBay ID: mrmpl) to discuss if we can get a price break. OS was already on this mailing list, but if Fern, Big Chin, or Paul540 is interested please let me know ASAP.

You・ll see on this spreadsheet that there are three worksheet: one for contact info, one to describe the updates or modifications you have done to your car and those you・d like to do, and a recap of eBay lower mesh grille auctions. If you could take a moment to fill in the info that applies to you and email this back to me, I・ll send out an updated version to all the members of the list.

For now we can all communicate by email with each other. Another possibility is to use the :Canada; forum at the Roadfly site:

http://bimmer.roadfly.org/bmw/forums/canada/

It is quite quiet there and we won・t have a lot of other traffic. Who knows, we might even drum up a few more members?

I look forward to hearing back from you.

Cheers,

Danny
