Max members I have a hook up for D2 coilovers. For all maXbimmer members $1650 taxes in (and no core charge for the strut tube)!

Now a 50% deposit is required and 2 weeks when the coilovers come in the balance will be paid. I don't have the pics of the exact kit but here are some pics of the product.

Any questions please post,
Dave

actually there's more  :
- dampening adjustable ?
- height adjustable only front / front & rear ?
- do we need to weld the ... *i dont know what part that need to be welded, but there's something need to be welded on other coilovers* ?
- are these things soft / hard ?
- i need to go as low as 90/60, is this feasible ?

thanks :)

Here are the other pics (others wouldn't upload earlier).

To answer some questions:

Lowering: I don't have the exact specs on this yes. Will soon.
Hight adjustable (front and rear): Yes
Dampening ajustable (front and rear): Yes
Spring rates: Totaly custom to what YOU specify
Welding: No. These are not a cheap coilover sleeve (ie: OBX)

do they replace the front strut tube?
is it a true rear coilover, or just an adjustable pearch?

The ride hight adjustablity is 0-3". Way more than an E30 can handle.

I had 2.25" Apex springs and I will never go below that on any E30.

A) About 2-3 weeks after the 50% deposit

B) H&R sucks because you can't adjust the rear

C) Quality is awesome! I had held the 240sx kit in my hands before and I was seriously impressed.

ahem .... id still like to know ....
if its a true rear coilover then rear shock tower reinforcement will be nesseary.

Yes you get a new strut tube. It is a true coilover! No coilover sleave kit here.

Yeah like he said, if it's real in the back, you'd need some minor reinforcement caging back there, no?

Probably weld on a reinforcement plate to beef up the shock tower mount. Anyone want to confirm?

Schnell 318

you definataly will need somthing ... that plate was only designed to hold a shock, not the added force of a spring also.
if you dont reinforce it will tear out.

do they come all assembled with new front and rear mounts?

I know it comes with the front mounts and i'm pretty shure that it comes with the rear mounts too.

Finally got around to installing them in the 240. They definately seem like a quality coilover. I guess only time will tell. I have yet had time to play with the damping but one things forsure they're super stiff. Way stiffer than my buddies ground control. All in all if they made them for the e34 i'd pick up a set.
By the way incase you guys were wondering, this is my biggest pet peeve about BMW's. The D2 kit for the 240 only cost $875. Whay does everything have to cost twice as much.

Because there are less BMW's than Japanese cars. That means less demand for the parts and it costs more.

BTW - Try pricing out a H&R coilover kit (not the cup kit)......it is about $3500+tx and it is not adjustable in the rear!

Dave, how would you compare them to the KW's? I recall you being very fond of those...

qimis

for the price wise, you pretty much add another $400 and you can get KW Variant 1. I dont know how new is D2 coilover on E30s, but I think lots of E30 in Germany use KW.

For the money you're spending on that level, might as well get the KW, just my $0.02 :) you can ask andre about KW V1, he has that in his car.

It was the FK's now KW's. I still like the FK's but that core charge is a kick in the nuts.

And also I have heard that there is something going on with FK....anyone want to put in their $0.02 on that?

Fk is considered cheap quality stuff in Europe apparently, sort of the OBX of suspension for them. I've heard only positive stuff since people started buying their stuff on this side of the pond, so maybe they got their act together, I dunno.
