Yeah i got the car back today from the shop. Had the transmission rebuilt. the friction plates were ****ed completely, my torque converter was damaged and my entire first gear was shot. it costed about $2200 to fix . I didn't do the tranny swap cuz i really needed the car to get around this summer. buses don't run frequent in my area to get to work. but meh... i'll hopefully have it done this winter... don't want to put the E30 through another winter... took a beating this last one.

That's a lot man, could have bought the parts to make it stick for less than that!

I would be lucky to get that much for my car!

^^^:D yeah i know dude... i needed it horribly as a daily driver... i didn't have time to do a swap myself. needed a car to go to work and back (no buses come frequent)... plus its totally worth it cuz i only had like 145 xxx kms on it

You should have done the 5 speed swap. A person with experience can do that in a day or two.

2200$   next time shop around that preaty expensive. for that much u could have gotten the 87 325e with the 90 325is motor. plus have some extra cash sittin around DaMN Homie that very pricey I would never go back to that shop..

You spent $2200 fixing an auto tranny? I'm dying of laughter. People would have sold you the 5-speed tranny INSTALLED for less than half of that.

You could have bout a daily driver and a 5speed for that price.*thmbsdwn*
