so i was with my cuzin his 77 corvette and we pull up to a civic on eglington, we revved the engine and he revved back, all of a sudden a prelude comes and gives a huge rev, prob all the way to like 5 or 6k, and then the green light comes, my cuzin didnt bother launching becuz he has enuf torque anyways and started in 2nd gear (for those of u who know, there are only 4 gears in the manual tranny of the 77 vette) and we caught up to them and smoked em. it was 2 flips guys. theres nothin like good american muscle when drag racing!

like it or not, Vette's are the best cars for your money, only $40k, and you get a car that out handles and is faster than an E46 M3

Faster but in a straight line!!! In a road test the M Z3 had better lap times than the Vette!

I said E46 M3, not Z3. The vette still out slalom's the MZ3.

The Z06 will out-handle an E46 M3, but these cars are in essentially an identical price range.

I don't know where you can buy a Vette for $40K (Cdn, anyway).

Standard, non Z06 Vette's are good cars, but nowhere near the capabilities of the Z06, or the E46 M3.

I'd imagine the new M Roadster / M Coupe is pretty quick with the updated motor, but with that short wheelbase, is likely just as twitchy as the previous generation was/is.

On an auto-X, I'd be inclined to the take the new M Roadster / Coupe, and I'd venture it being quicker than the Vette on many road courses.

The Z06 though, I think would end up being a faster, easier car to drive than the new M Roadster, or E46 M3.

I would say Camaros and Firebirds are the best cars for your money
Vette is kinda pricy.

I meant if you want a fast car to race ppl on the traffic light, camaro/firebird/mustangs are the best choices.
