Feeler: FS 1990 325i

Just trying to get a feel for what I can get for this car, and if there is any interest. The car IS for sale, but I've not yet decided on a fair price.

Specs:

1990 325i
Brilliant Red, Grey interior
2 Doors
5spd Manual
Power windows, mirrors
Manual moon-roof
Non-sport, heated seats.
Stock, 14" BBS basketweaves, including BBS spare
160,000KM (maybe closer to 170,000 by now).

Although the car has never been in a collision, it does have a decent sized dent on the lower rear bumper valence and (as usual) the front spoiler lip is MIA. Otherwise, the paint is original and in good condition except for some small patches missing at the front lower rocker panels where mudflaps would have protected the paint..

Windows are lightly tinted all around (not windshield).

Repairs since I've owned it: New fuel pumps, timing belt, rear wheel bearing and a FULL clutch. Tires are still good but the rims are not in the greatest shape (lots of road rash) but all are true. I have 3 out of the 4 centre caps.

Generally, this car is in good condition, runs VERY well and I haven't had a single problem with it in two years of ownership. It has never failed to start. It has never run poorly. I don't doubt this car has another 100,000KM in it, easy.

So, what do you guys think? What is it worth, private sale and is anyone here interested?

Based on autotrader.ca listings, your asking price should be in the neighbourhood of $3000.

$3000? Based on what? A quick search of Autotrader shows me 4 cars from $5000 to $13,000.

Where do you come up with $3000?

Maybe the BC market is different from Ontario but I was checking out two E30s I picked out from the autotrader.ca last week and both were sold before I got to them.

One was a 1989 325is, 165K kms, leather sport seats, pretty much stock, asking $3350, sold for $3100. The other one was a 1990 325ix, leather sport seats, 190K kms, sold for $3500.

You can quote whatever asking price you see at Autotrader but the reality is the selling price is what counts. You can ask whatever you want, I'm just telling you the selling price of the cars I've been missing out on.

Fair enough. It looks like E30's just catch a premium on this coast. Maybe it's a lack of rust?

The asking price around the West coast really is higher. Trying to replace my E30 has been tough cause everything I find here is easily $1500 more than it would be out East.

Oh yeah? I called many of them on the phone and I must have confused it with something else. Damn, prices are low. That white one looked pretty good, at least in the picture.

If u look un BC adds yOU CAN find sweet deal....Same like when you compare maxbimmer and trader...

There is nothing wrong with 325E.....I know this doctor that has nice 2 door 325E ,he bought he originally and always dealer maintaned.......I bete he is not 72 years old but with his car he never went more then 100 km on highway...... The car is like candy......but mofo wont sell it if you kill him hahhah

My point is If you can not get nice 325is in such condition then dont bother buying it.... There are some left over but they want that much can that you can pick up E36 if you look hard....

Yeah, I was quite happy with my 325E, but there really isn't much around this area for more. Theres the IS I'm looking at, and thats it for E30's.
