View Full Version : e30 tilt

I was look at how the steering column is attached to the framework behind the dash and was wondering how to get the damn thing to tilt down. the only thing that seems to hold the steering column up is a slot on the framework and a pin type "dohicky" that is attached to the column.
I also thaught about that think rubber guibo that is on the steering shaft, but there is a universal joint on the shaft too, so I was thinking if I could get the column to move in conjunction with that joint there would be no problem.
I guess I would have to mod the kick panel but that is minor.
Does anyone know how to do this, or is there anyone with a car taken apart the could find out?
