View Full Version : Sturt Braces

05-26-2004, 01:47 AM
I was wondering why the darn strut braces made by so many companies cost so much.

If you are interested in titanium strut braces for your e30, and other models to come, pm me or leavea post.

I will offer in bare titanium, chrome, or any powder coat.

Interested if the price is reasonable!

05-26-2004, 03:00 AM
They are custom made so I can get them for any model, but I was only gonna offer e30s for the time being.

05-26-2004, 03:14 AM
Want one too... yeah, yeah I know for E30 only... It's for an '88 325ix.

05-26-2004, 03:20 AM
How much would it be if you made one of the e36?

05-26-2004, 03:26 AM
I have a skilled welder and Aluminum or titanium, which ever you chose, and am producing them on my own. I can gaurantee that they will be strong. I am going of existing designs.
Please tell me if this would hinder you going through with this. I put this thread here to se if people would buy from private company.

05-26-2004, 03:28 AM
Also I am going to make the first one for myself to test it in Aluminum and then titanium. I will also develop a rear brace, and eventually a varient of the "x-brace".

Uhm I just realized you're not local. I thought I can check it out and do COD.

Do you have any references?

05-26-2004, 04:21 AM
I have yet to even biuld one yet, though I am not gonna send them out untill I and this friend of mine have romped on them for about a month, so it may be August before you could take delivery.
I will post a simple CAD before Friday ok.

interested in e36, and e46 if possible......keep us posted....

05-26-2004, 06:19 PM
I will be doing a test fit on my e30 tonight and I will get with my friend for the e36, also does the z3 have the same strut width and bolt spacing as an e36? I have a friend with one of those too so I may be able to test one on that. Umm my ex gf has an e46 so that takes care of all the models, I will be getting down and dirty on it tonight

interested for e36.
need to know prices though!

05-26-2004, 06:26 PM
id be interested for a '90 325ix.. lemme know what the price would be and if its gonna be a group thing

05-26-2004, 06:36 PM
Guys I will post a price when I come up with one.

05-26-2004, 06:52 PM
^^ For that much id rather add a few bux and buy the Sparco

05-26-2004, 07:04 PM
I need one for an E34 535 i for a customer of mine... I could use it in aluminum or titanium, wahtever is cheaper... plus one for an E24 6 series and one for an E30 front and rear...

let me know what dealer pricing would be...

05-26-2004, 07:38 PM
I will consider lowering the price to below that of the competition, i will have to look around and see what others go for. Also when I get the e30's front, rear, and underbody braces designed I will offer a package deal.

05-26-2004, 08:14 PM
kylebes1 hey that price its a bit steep wat dont u make it $70CND and then we can get a group buy going. I think for 70$ every one with an e30 would jump on it..

05-26-2004, 09:23 PM
I will have to see how much the material are gonna cost me. I guess low profit high turnover would work for me.

05-26-2004, 09:32 PM
70 canandian is like $50 US.

05-27-2004, 02:46 AM
Yep that sound fair to me *th-up*

05-27-2004, 02:54 AM
Remember there are 4 different braces needed for the E30 range.

1 - M3
2 - M20
3 - 'ix
4 - 4-cylinders (not sure, M10 and M42 may be different...so maybe 5)

05-28-2004, 02:04 AM
Would anyone object to a straight over type? I may have to cuvre to get closer to hood, but the upward arch will make it stronger.
I am going to a friend's salvage yard tomorrow to do more messuring sorry about the promised CAD I had major brake trouble and had to replace rear cylinders, drums and shoes, which suck because I wanted to wait and do the five lug, not I will have brand new shiney drums to make a stool out of!!!

I knew about the ix difference but I may not be able to find an m3 to make a template for so does any one know exactly what the difference is?
For all the cars except the "ix" are the strut towers exactly the same, because if they are I will just design them to fit closly to the hood.

One last thing, how can I keep this thread on the first page of the for sale site?

05-28-2004, 03:08 AM

i like your philosophy!

btw if u want this thread to stay in the first page, just post BUMP!

05-28-2004, 03:24 AM
just keep bumping it..or add info when you got it

05-28-2004, 06:25 AM
That is all it takes, hum. Ok
Well I have been thinking and have yet to get a price on titanium but 50 us dollars is only gonna get you steel or aluminum.

05-28-2004, 06:35 AM
I think for 50US u'd get alot of sales

05-28-2004, 04:04 PM
I'd be interested for E36.

05-28-2004, 04:12 PM
how about some pics of this

05-28-2004, 05:28 PM
for 50US id grab an aluminum for sure

05-28-2004, 05:36 PM
Im interested pending pictures, and final price.

05-30-2004, 12:08 AM
