my dad and I are building our own intake on the E30. I was wondering if you guys have any specs on it like the diameter and shit... or better yet have anything I can use as a template to build one? planning to build one out of aluminum and a heat shield with aluminum dipped in ceramics? can anyone help me out?

what parts are you going to make? there are lots of components to an intake.... or are you just talking about the ducting before the throttle body?

a 3in inner diameter filter is the standard aftermarket size...greedy or ractive cheapy, they all do the same job...

There are 45372894 different K&N sizes and shapes. Measure the room you have to work with and get the biggest that will fit.

Mine is...well, I can't remember. I can barely remember how to remove the whole box assembly, from what I can recall it's just a few 10mm bolts and clips to undo. If you want I could come by and lend a hand, I love this stuff.

E30 meet at chrome's this weekend!

you have to unbolt it from inside the box, theres 4 10 mil bolts...
you know that box with the horn in it is the best e-30 intake you can get right??id trade my intake and filter for a drop in k&n in a second...

i agree.. time would be better spent fixing odds and ends.. but if you want the sound.. you want the intake :D

I have an adaptor like felix posted that fit's perfect.. it even flares out on the inside so not obstruction to the flowz of cold, clean air from the K&N filterz n' shit!

fo sale ya'll
