you guys know by now that i dont have a bmw, =(
of course i could probably go get a 318 tommorw but really, why?
i got a cavalier and thats just as good as a 318 in my opinion well just because it goes same speed, really i dont care for turning on a corner very well at low speeds.. anyways....
i was reading my bimmer mag and i looked at a add
Bavarian Engine Exchange Inc. maybe some of you have heard of it? or have done it? i was thinking would it be wise get a good looking condition 318 with high km and do this.. even says u can improve parts for improvment... would it be wise to do this? i hear people say rebuilts are never the same.. whats it mean by that? iit will go to only 150km and start giving me problems? or do you guys recommend me to wait for another 5 years for a good condition 325 =)

Find out how much a brandnew engine would go for for that model of car and if the difference is a couple k then i would opt for the brandnew one. As for the quality of the rebuild, i would say it is only as good as the person rebuilding it but then again i have never had to deal with that yet, thank god ;)

You would also save on insurance if you bought a 318 over a 325.

The enigines can last a very long time. My ex-girlfriend has an 88 435i with 550,000 km on it, so 150,000 shouldnt be a concern.

BTW, its still the original engine in it.
