Sport Button?

Hey Benchmark and X5HogTown,

I heard that one of you (or maybe both) has a "sport button" installed? Sorry if I missed this on a previous thread, but what exactly is it? Can it be installed in a Z3/M Roadster and, if so, has anyone had it done? If this was already discussed in a prior thread, you can send me a PM instead if you like.

Benchmark got his installed several weeks ago and highly recommends the mod (I thought he posted the details but I couldn't find it). I'm getting it installed on my car this Monday.

It basically re-maps the throttle response and gets on the gas a lot quicker. Blipping the throttle for downshifts becomes easier (unresponsive in standard mode). No gain in horsepower. Not suitable for stop & go traffic.

This can be added to all 01/02 coupes/roadsters with the S54 engine.

Not sure why it didn't come from the factory already enabled. All it requires is a switch, wiring and a small circuit board to light up the Sport Mode light on the dash.

So it is not available/applicable for S52 engine roadsters then? How much including installation?

the mod is a great addition for seriously fast driving...highway or city...

the 407 on the way back from waterloo is a good test location....

Got the Sport Mode installed today.

What a difference! Much better off the line, easier downshifts and way more responsive.

They used an ASC button for the switch so I have re-named it 'Advanced Sport Control.'
