I know on the e36 you could hold down the unlock and lock button at the same time and you could turn an audible chirp on and off. I have read the manual for the e46 alarm and I don't even understand how to do the panic alarm.
Anyone know?
Thanks
Jay

I think the dealer can set it for you, its free, you can also set if the lights blink or not.

Free eh? From the dealer? Free+dealer don't usually go together, lol:D

Thanks Julian, I will call budds today.

Yes, what Julian said. The OEM alarm beep sounds wicked cool too. Don't you love the clown nose light on the rearview mirror?

You most likely dont have the alarm. it's an 500$ option for any E46. I don't have the alwarm on my 3 but i had my dealer program the clown nose to blink and to have my exterior lights flash when I lock and unlock the car. Looks like i have the alarm just doesn't chirp.

Yep, don't have an alarm. $52,000 car and no alarm, I think that is absolutley pathetic.

Now that I think about it, my bro's M3 didn't have an alarm either, he bought it seperate:mad:

The system is pre wired for one right?

Yeah, the OEM alarm is VERY easy to DIY. You just need the dealer to activate it electronically when you're done the hardware, some do it for free.

If you have an alarm, ask your dealer. It's a simple programming switch.

Mine does the same thing, but no alarm, I guess the easiest way to check is see if you can see the siren under the hood.

Or just lock the car with the windows down and pull the inside handle...
