Does anyone know if a water pump for a 86 325e and 88 325i are the same?

No, they are not the same.

The 88 325i featured the redesigned radiator and cooling system. The hose routing is different. The 2 pumps differ slightly, and are not compatable.

i wouldnt advice usin a used water pump on ur car..

Jordan, you mean the blocks are same but the pump outlets are different. Is it right? I see a few kinds of design for E30 radiators, this might be the reason.

Yes, the engine blocks are the same, but the water pump outlets are different.

The older style has another outlet that goes to the overflow/filler tank above the exhuast manifolds. The new style does not have that outlet.

ya fuk it, im getting a new one monday.....

Only reason i was thinkin about it was bcus its almost new......and i couldn't get a new one till monday.

plus im still not sure its the water pump, so hard to see upfront.
