My current wide angle lens is the 0.42x AF LENS from Bower. I needed 58mm to 46mm extensions :(

Hey man the Rebel is a nice choice you can also just get the Rebel SLR body for around 1199 CND + Tax and get a decent lens later on. But still its a very expensive camera there are two 8MP camera out there in the same price rance as the rebel so it's really a hard choice. But for my tastes since i'm not going to be doing some insane pics hehe the sony 5MP is good for me, some features to play around with and also learn in the process. I bought it used too from henrys, if you have a old camera too you can get discounts from that.

You can look at http://www.dpreview.com/ they have good reviews there regarding all the digi cameras out there. Do a side by side comparison.

thanks for the info Jeff, I am really picky, that's why I want a hi-res camera, I notice the smallest details, that's the reason why I want the Rebel, and all the gadgets to play around on the camera

Just some info for you guys that are looking into getting a digital camera, for the same price of an SLR like the Rebel being 6 mgpxl its still produces better images than the prosumer cameras like the new Olympus 8080 and Canon Pro1(both 8 mgpxls) simply because the image sensor on a digital SLR is much bigger than a sensor in a prosumer camera even if it is 8 mgpxls.
To take this further an Olympus E1 professional SLR with only 5 mgpxls produces images even better than an SLR like the Rebel. It's all in the sensor size/quality and lens*th-up*

Yup the olympus E1 pro slr is so sick, there was one for sale at henrys when I went there yesterday. Though my budget is only for 600CND so I can't put in $1300+ for the olympus :(

What digicam do you have btw? You have a canon right

DevilonWheelz has the Canon G2 and I have the Olympus C-750 UltraZoom with ED lens.

Yeah, the E1 is one sick camera and the price only includes the body, not the lens. Wish I had the E1:(
