325 to 318?

Hey guys, a little advice on this situation.
I have an 86 325es, lot's of fun but bent. The left front shock tower is not lined up properly (old damage, before me).
I have a buddy who wants my chassis with a 318 motor to race in a dirt class.
Can I transfer the drivetrain from the 318 to the 325 and vice versa without going completely insane or is this just too much work?

It would appear that there are a lot of really knowledegable people on this board and I am suprised that no one has an opinion on this subject. Anything?

the shifter mounts are different but you could figure it out...other than that,its a bolt in...you'll have to change harnesses in both cars though...and the battery in the 318 is in the engine bay,325 in the trunk.but thats not much again...do it up!!!
