View Full Version : Buying an exhaust for 540i

Hi guys,

I'm Sebastian from Amsterdam, Holland, so don't blame me for my stupid English.

I want to buy an other exhaust for my 540i '98. But I really don't know what to buy.

I do want to replace the centre muffler for a bypass, so remove the centre resonator and I want a sporty end muffler.

I saw this combination on SuperSprint website, but I don't know anything about it. Never saw it, never heard it.

Centre pipe Stainless steel Replaces OEM centre exhaust
Rear exhaust CLASS 95 x 80 Stainless

So I need to get as much information as I can. Like sound clips, video's, photo's. I've looked around the web and forums, but my mission is not really succeeded.

I prefer the G-Power exhaust (www.g-power.de) personally, and would replace the huge canister BMW calls a resonator by a tube style resonator. This should allow for a large improvement in airflow while keeping the sound levels not too high.

I also like G-Power, but I think they also have G-Prices... and I would like to see videos or hear audio files with some open exhausts on 540i's. :)

edit: Greco, can i ask, how much did you paid for your CAI?

You can go to http://www.bmw540ifun.com and check the faq section for some vids of 540 exhausts.

I paid $575US for mine. I'll probably be selling it in June after I sell the car.

Als jij dat ding nu gewoon bestelt en monteert, kan ik fijn luisteren naar de sound en jou ervaringen...:D

Ps: je engels is zo slecht nog niet...*th-up*
