From CT the name of the paint is Kyrlon Stained Glass Red. Good luck finding it though. I tried 2 stores downtown this weekend, no luck.

I used testors candy apple red, I think its #1605 or something like that, matches very well. Any hobby store will have it.

Found the stuff at "michaels", it is Krylon Canday Apple Red Glass paint, but it comes out pretty deep, looks sweet....here are the initial pics thus far, thought pics don't do it justice especially with a flash.....

Haha, I think I will run without tailights!LoL

First coat, luckily no overspray thus far.........

The flash makes it look a lot more red, but it is really a deep red, looks nice.

I've seen some E30's with the rear lights tinted black... did they just use paint to do it? or is it lights you have to buy?

I remember Randy saying something about applying very thin coats and to take your time with it. it looked alittle too thick to me Jay or maybe it was the picture.

Does anyone know how this stands up to the weather or car wash?

Well, I did mine last night, it came out way to dark and looks stupid. I am going to have to see if I can take some acetone and remove the paint. The first coat was enough, it didn't need anymore. It really looks black even in the daylight right now......

Ya i also wanna know where i can grab a can of this TINT PAINT?!

Jay, you just applied a thicker than normal coat, no worries, i've done that before, just throw some ACETONE on a cloth and scrub like a MOFO, they'll be off in no time!

Any of you guys think its a good idea to do like a light sand or even a wet sand with 1500 sandpaper? I just want to make sure that paint will stick and wont peel in the bad weather.

thanks
