I'm in the market for an entry level camera. I just bought a Sony DSC-P32, but I noticed the Canon A70 on sale for $10 more.....

What should I do, swap, anyone have any insight on these two cameras?

everyone will tell u the A70 is THE beginner camera and the sony is not even in the same league just because of all the manual controls the A70 has

Sony = http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/specs/Sony/sony_dscp32.asp

i personally picked up a A80 but still waiting for delivery i can't wait :cool:

The canon is better, but my only gripe about it, is that there's no recharable batteries.

I think another good camera to look at in a similar price rang would be the SD110

I have my own NiMH batteries, so that's not an issue, and the SD110 is like $160 more then I can get the A70 for....

I guess I'm going to go pick up the A70 today and play around with it, then probably just return the Sony.

A70 all the way. I got that camera before my digital rebel, and it really rock.

Got to love the manual features...

Yep, I just picked up the A70 (with a 256mb card), did some comparison pics with the DSCP32 before I returned it. The DSCP32 isn't even comparable.

I'm happy, thanks guys.

Here are some of my shots from my Canon A70. Although it uses 4 NiHm batteries, I noticed that they last quite a long time on my camera compared to my sister's S400 which uses the Lithium battery.

here's one from my school's formal. This was shot on full manual mode. In person, the whole area was darker than what you see in this picture. I'm impressed how on how the longer exposure shots helps!

Here I am killing some time, haha. The music sucked so I just took some random shots. Full manual mode on this one.
