O.K. Who in their right mind would do that. Top speed of 60mph!! Probably cost a bomb, when he could of spent the money on performance upgrades to make it go faster. Honestly, people these days. What will they do next. I wonder how far he gets before the plug comes out or does the extension cable come with it!!! :D

I knew the 318s were meant to be fuel effiecient and low on pollution but this takes the cake.

hey get used to it...10 years from now...you'll be converting if you wanna keep your low tech ride on the road..i like it...
Wow, that is pretty cool. I wish he had more pictures of it.
The E30 isn't really the most ideal car for an electric conversion though... something lighter and FWD would make a better choice. One of my professors built an electric car out of a VW Golf, and it has a range of about 50 miles with normal driving, or 100 miles going 20mph. He did a really good job with his and planned it out really well. I was considering building one out of a VW fox but BMW projects got in the way. (actually I think it would be sweet to have an electric Delorean, maybe someday...)
I know you guys aren't fond of electric conversions, but there ARE fast electric cars out there. I remember seeing a website with an electric RX7 that could do a quarter mile in under ten seconds. I don't think it could go very far after that though.
I think hybrids are what the future is coming to, and I think things like this are cool.
