Hey, dunno if this has already been asked, but what exactly happened to your ride, and you got any pics? Don't take it the wrong way, just curious to see the car, sounds like it was damaged pretty badly!

Also, is the passenger door fully functional? I may need the opening mechanism!

hmm

how hard would it be to install a sunroof into a bimmer that doesn't have one?

is there a lot of work required?

not that difficult actually.. your car has the room for it. It's basically just cutting the hole... bolting the cartridge in.. (complete assembly)... attaching the drain ducts... sealing it... running the wires... and putting on the new headliner...

sounds like a lot of steps, but really not as difficult as it sounds... I think most places will do it for around $1000 labour.

no... 4 bolts and that's it.

Put your sunroof in TILT... then push the interior panel back.. (not all the way).. you'll see some bolts under there. Unbolt those. Then at the FRONT of the sunroof (where it's tilted) you stick a hex driver in the little tilted gap area on either side and unbolt those... and that's it.. the cover comes off. Put the new cover on, and you're good to go.

If you're going glass, then you'll also have to put a handle on your interior panel so you can slide it shut if you ever wanted to.
