Clogged ATF

well today I began taking apart the Auto transmission to acess the damage. I posted earlier that my gears were slipping into neutral when i drove. Well I took out the Automatic Transmission Filter today and noticed that the trans oil is burnt and also the Filter was clogged like a mofo. Could this be the reason why my gears were slipping? Anyone?

could be, but i have only known gears to slip when the trannie is extremely lo on fluid

i doubt it... it could be really burt cuz of ur tranny going my friend blew his and the fluid was burnt macanic said it was cuz the tranny went
