I just got home from school and damn it was hell driving it back... I was driving home and when it shifted from 2nd to 3rd it would shift into neutral. Or when it does shift from 2nd to 3rd the gears would slip and rev before shifting to 3rd. It sucked ass. I got stuck at the lights cuz the car was stuck on neutral and wouldn't drive. This really sucks asshole... I just had my Magnaflow exhaust installed yesterday too!! What do you guys think this it is?! I'm soo pissed off right now and sad.:(

how many kms?

you need a lot, and it is a lot of work. Unless you are really attached to your car, its better to get a new one. But heres off the top of my head the parts i used. Also, the gearing changes drastically, as the auto final drive is like 3.91 and manual is between 2.9 and 3, so that makes top speed barely 120, and a horrible freeway cruising speed rpm, so a different geared differential would be a good idea as well.

clutch kit with flywheel
driveshaft with guibo
slave cyl with hose
master cyl with hose
clutch and brake pedal housing
shifter linkage-almost $200 worth of dealer parts
possible new tranny brace
pilot bearing

Then there is some wiring to make the car start, and also to have reverse lights and cruise control. Finish with some fluids, and that should be about it.

km's dont matter that much on manual trannys, it depends on the abuse its taken.

i have a link for the swap if u wanna know, i was thinking of doing mine too.

here is an article on the 5spd swap.

BTW. The final drives on autos are 4.10.
120 would not be ur top speed, more like 180 or something......it can't be that low

aright i looked it up in the manual book and it said for not upshifting or slipping gears it can be a damaged governer... that means i need a new transmission right? anyone selling one here?

ok nm what i just said... test drove it again and this time got stuck on the driveway... reverse doesn't even work for me now ... yeah there was a cut wire in the tranny but we soldered it... worked fine for a bit... then drove it again 5 min later gears were slipping and couldn't get out of the driveway!!

I stall my durango all the time, I swear there's a vacuum leak, if the wheel is hard over, without the truck moving, and you apply the breaks it will stall :(

Check the switch for the power steering, my Ford had the same problem; some cars have a switch that will raise the RPM when turning the steering wheel fully, if that goes the car will stall...
