View Full Version : How is the ride with PSS shocks?

Just wondering how the ride is with PSS (the height adjustable only) vs the PSS9? PSS9 is the one with adjustable dampering right?

I just don't want to get them and find that the ride is too harsh.

I've read that the regular PSS (non-rebound adjustable) is equivalent to the PSS9 set to full soft.

I am waiting for my PSS9's to arrive from Pennsylvania this week and will have a better idea as to what exactly they feel like.

... Actually I believe Maciek has the PSS setup on his car. You may want to PM him for specific details.

How much did you get your shocks for? I got a friend coming up from the States taht can bring me some stuff.. so maybe if the price is good, I will ask him to bring it for me from there.

I've also invested in the Bilstien PSS suspension syestem. I was gonna go with a spring & shock set-up but, i drive my ride year round. The only difference between the PSS & PSS9 is the adjustable dampening (street-to-track) and oh ya about $600 more. The ride quality is amazing, not too spongy but still firm. One more piece of advice, when or if you get them, don't leave it slammed for too long. You might run into some trouble (from experience!). I picked up the whole kit for around 3 g's.

in what trouble
and how often should I "raise it up"

Thanks for the advice. Not looking for the "slammed" look. Just enough to close off the wheel gap. I think I will probably go with the PSS system without the dampering, since this will not be a track car.

I have the PSS and I'm very pleased with the performance of them so far. The ride was very firm for the first couple of days, but it broke in very nice. The damping is rated at 4-5, compared to the 9 adjustments on the PSS9. This is the best suspension I have ever bought. Good ride, lots of height adjustment, you can't go wrong! *th-up*

How do the PSS9s compare to the H&R full coilover system? Stage 4 I believe?

yeah this is a thread I missed out on, I am alos looking into the PSS and the PS9 setup, but also how is the PSS versus the standard Bilstein shock setup??? That would be a better comparison.
