Hi all,

anyone know why these pics turned out like this ? i made sure my hand was steady...ODD

could it be because the battery was low ? after the last pic the camera shutdown

Cool. What settings were you using when taking these? Was it auto or manual

at the night setting the shutter speed is really slow so when you are holding it by hand your hands move and create those lines from the light

You need a tripod for night shots.

I don't think anything wrong with the camera. I would try more. In some instances (I have canon s200, old one) I found without flash also delivers some better results(obviously you need more light though)

Experiment a little. Even if the camera is messed, Canon(or the retailer you got it from) has good warranty.

In the mean time check this site out:

aperture time was long, you need a tripod for night shots...

You have moved the camera before it finished to take the pics..

I try to use a tripod when ever possible, makes the pics (even daytime) look highly focused.
