hey im looking into some wheels, they are racing dunamics, 16x7.5 and i was wondering whether i should put 205/50/16's or 225/45/16's

which r the more common size

More common? 205/50.

From what I gather, 225's will fit (depending on your wheels' offset, of course). Some people have had rubbing issues with 225's, some not. Those that had rubbing rolled their fenders a bit.

I'm going 225's next time around on my 16X7.5 wheels.

Right on, Al. If you share your offset then we can tell ya for sure. :)

205/55/16's are more common but a little too tall and will rub on lowered e30's.

I would try and find a 205/50/16 because the 225/45 would balloon out and look horrible.. and 215/45 or 50 is also very rare.

Here's an example of 225's (on 15"X7" rims). It's egk2's car. They don't look too horrible to me. Of course, it'll look bad on 6" wide rims. Not on 7" or 7.5" ones, though.

Here's Chris E30cab's car. 225's also.

I don't know, I guess it's all a matter of taste. I'd love to have pics directly from the front and back to see the width.

That is the absolute perfect offset for 7.5" wheels. Get 225/45/16's. Check out the Yokohama ES100, good price for that size and excellent tire.

Don't go wider than 225 on a 7" rim, it will tramline like a mofo.

Unfortunately 225/40/17 tires are rare as hell, you have to stick with 215/40/17.
