If i got these rims for my e30 (16x7.5) what offset would i need? Also, what tire size should i get to safely have that streatched euro look?

BTW what do you think of these rims? are they good?

I think the euro look is more because they run wide wheels, and can't run proper sized rubber because of the wheel wells...

that makes sense. still loks cool tho

those do not need streched rubber. Most of the "euro look" cars have 9" wide wheels.

Chriskb3

wait. so will the 16x7.5 still have that phat lip??

MorningCruiser

depends on the offset, you'd look like a fruit with 7.5" wide with huge offset though.

Just run normal ones, or pony up for 9 wides...

lol. a fruit i DO NOT want to look like! btw the site im looking for them at sells a 20 and 35 offset. so go with the 20??

Jase

the pics almost always sho the 9" wheel. the lip will be about half the size of the pic

Errr, *scratches head* been a while since I ordered wheels. Backspacing is distance from outside in, offset is distance from inside to center?

If I'm right, go with 35, I believe that's proper E30 offset, but I'm not sure, haha.

i may be wrong, but I though offset was the distance in mm from the center to the outside of the rim. So 30mm offset would be 30mm from the center (outward). A negative offset goes inward. I may be wrong. Someone correct me if I am (andre)

*shrug* Like I said, long time since I've ordered wheels, and the names backspacing and offset don't really specify too too much.

You could be right though, haha.

You sound right, actually... So, yeah, trust bimmerman's comment, I think he's right.

Chriskb3

damn...how wide are his spacers??

Jase
03-29-2004, 09:49 PM
i think he runs 7-10mm in the front and 5mm on th back. Not too sure you 'd have to ask him. my 7.5 type a's dont need a spacer.

so these are good wheels? no bendiing problems or anythin? i've got mille miglias rite now and theyre bent to crap...

All rims need to be treated well. If the rim has a large lip on it then it will be more prone to getting bent. You shouldnt have bent up wheels unless your driving into potholes all the time.

7.5" wide wheels with a 20 offset would work with 205/50/16 tire.

the smaller offset will have the wider lip, or the other way around?

or does that even change it?

i have Botbet Type A 16X9 all around with 215/40/16 with 10mm spacers in front and 15mm spacers in the rear, you cannot strech a 7.5 rim and if you do try to strech it it's gonna look really bad. Im currently selling my rims, and my next ones will be 16X9 front adn 16X10.5 rear.

how much are you going to sell them for?

don't get the 35 offset, or you'll need fat spacers, get the 20mm, you may need 10mm spacers then., but you might be able to pull it off without spacers on the 9"

You would want a 10mm spacer, 25mm allows use ofa 225 width tire. That is not fat at all.

The 20mm wheel (i.e. not a 35mm with spacer) will have a wider lip though. Also, he is asking about 7.5" wheels, not a 9".

7.5 with et20 will fit right on without spacers then.
