Finally got the official numbers from BMW Canada:

M Coupes
2001 - none sold in Canada
2002 - 7 sold

So where the heck did these 7 go? They would have been special order so I doubt they were exported. I have seen one 2002 and it was imported.

We need these cars on our cruise!

That little, thats pretty shocking, such amazing vehicles, i mean 315 ponnies outta such a little car!

And sorry, are these COUPES only, or does it include ROADSTERS as well, how many of those are out there?!

my friend's MOM had the 02 Phoenix Yellow, the only one sold in Canada... but it was shipped to BC after 6 months of driving in TO (if anyone remember, it was sitting at T&C's elevator display for a while...)

Good question... I imported mine from the US last year. I know of two others and they were also imported. Still looking for the 7 2002s...

This is just Coupes. I will make another call for 01/02 M Roadsters. There are definately more Roadsters but they're also hard to find.

I understand the S54 engine was in limited supply and BMW made more money selling M3s than MZ3s. This kept the production number to a minimum.

Bruce can you ask ask for the 97-2000 m coupe stats? I'm pretty sure there's more than 500 plus imported here in Canada

I saw the puke yellow one at T&C. when they had it in their delivery room I actually sat in it. They were having a hard time selling it because of the colour.

I think production was more limited by demand for clown shoes than engine availability.*wiggle*

Was it parked near the silver coupe? That was probably:
