My outside temperature display always reads -30C I assume it is open circuit. Where on my e30m3 is it located???

Well my external temperature sensor was located beside the drivers side foglight in the brake vent. My vent came loose and I drove over it crushing the vent and ripping the sensor off the wire. I want to get rid of that display and put something else in there. If you have had suffered the same fate as me I suggest that you get under there and wrap up the wire in electrical tape and secure it from any moving parts.

Hope it helped!,
Dave

I am having the same problem with my sensor. To get it working does it have to be connected to anything? or can you buy a new tip sensor and then let it dangle.

I did not get a chance to fix mine yet (wife keeps me very busy, honey do an do and do). On my M3 it's located just below the left front fog light and should be a two wire connection (special type of wire) and very low voltage signal mv etc. When I do fix it I will post a reply.
