Do E36's require an alignment after changing just the shocks?

Reason I ask: I have almost all the parts ready to rejuvenate my suspension (control arms, CA bushings, RTABS, tie rods, balljoints, etc). Replacing these WILL require an alignment, which is fine.

Can't afford the Koni's just yet, so I was hoping I could do them in the summer and avoid another alignment.

Thanks

I think the rule is if you change anything in the suspension then you'll need an allignment.

Shocks will not change your geometry from what I know.

The spring, compressed and extended will not change, as the shock merely mimicks the spring's range of motion..

its always a good idea to do an alignment after a large overhaul on the suspension, this is my plan after my overhall this spring.
