I have been thinking of trying this for years and I have do buy new tires this season.

What would wider rear tires with smaller front tires handle like??

Has anyone tried a 225 rears with 205 fronts??

It would understeer like a bitch. Staggered setups are *thmbsdwn*

225's all around would feel amazing.

I had a Mercedes 190E 2.3 with the stock 15" wheels with brand new Pirelli Scorpion sport tires 205 in front and 225 in back...it looked good and kicked ass on handling. Not sure about the BMW tho....may cause understeer on a smaller chassis.

not sure if 325's can fit 225 tires without spacers on the wheels...cuz with 205's its mighty close to the shock as it is. At least mine is....correct me if I am wrong.

Nah, I've seen 245's on the rear with stock unrolled fenders. It's all about the offset.

Also, to the original poster: what year E30 do you have? The 87 and earlier bodies have higher rear fender arches, you can fit more rubber in those.

225/14" do NOT fit the front! I had them on the rear of my old E30, and when i tryed to put them in the front they were rubbing on the strut! (stock 14" rims).

Blunt now has 255's. All around. I don't remember which rims he has or his suspension setup though. But yeah, 255's.

I don't know how 255s would fit on the front, I'd say there had to have been some fender work.

Heres a few pics of my 225s....Its hard to see, but they are about a milimmeter away from the front strut, and about 2 from the rear fender. TIght fit.

i actually have 255's on the rear and 235's on the front on staggered double10 e36 M3 wheels. i wasnt very clear when i posted bob. i have the high wheel arches but my car is slammed with j stocks so im actually tucking ever so slightly in the rear. i dont have my car actually rolling yet but they will work with rolling or cutting the inner lip. we will see whats needed once i get the motor in and the cars level. but 255's look pretty serious on it. with the power im putting down ill welcome a little understeer

I got a set of 225R 17's for the back for christmas. I already got 215R17's all the way around. I havent mounted the new tires yet but are very doubtful that they will fit. Anyone know for sure.

i have 225/50/16 on the rear looks crazy but i get alot of rubbing and my e30 is slammed as well. anyhow it rubs on the side wall of the tire mostly but during corners and bumps.
