I'm looking for some new rims for my 325ci.
I'm looking at HRE (448R, 540, 547) and the Hartge Classics.
I'm also not sure whether to get another set of 18s or go up to 19s.
Any thoughts or suggestions?
This would help a lot.
Thanks in advance.

I'd go with the 547R, in 19's *th-up*

what's the difference between the 547 and the 547R
I really only see a difference in the price tag....

I'm thinking of it....but I'm just afraid of hitting shit
Any spring recommendations?
I know Eibach is good, but if anyone has any good info on springs, it would help

found this on another site explaining the difference in 540R series.

"HRE's new Forged 540R Series was created for exotic sports car owners looking for peerless combination of 3-Piece Custom fitments and the engaging looks that come from larger wheel diameters. Bowed profile designs from HRE's acclaimed 540 line mated with sleek, straight contour rims and 1" larger wheel centers result in a striking and dramatic look that can be found nowhere else."

Do you think it's worth the extra cash to go with the 540R?

The difference in price between the two is only around $150-$200 per rim, so its not that much more. Personally I would spend the extra cash, and get the 547R.

btw, if you are going to buy HRE's, get a quote from www.wheelsboutique.com . They have amazing prices.

Thanks Flapjack for that confusing explanation.

Basically the "R" wheels have a flat "dish" which makes the center section look bigger, opposed to a stepped lip.

if I got rims, I want the rear ones to have a large dish...
so the centre is farther in for the rear rim vs. the front one

"R" is also for reverse drop centre or something like that.

FYI: Hartge Classics are heavy as hell.

Then custom is the way to go. HRE, iForged, DPE, Kinesis, Fikse

regardless of choice, I would stick with 18's. You give up a lot in comfort and performance going bigger.

Hartge's are heavy, but they look so damn nice!

very true...
I think I'm gonna stick with 18s because that way, I can just swap the rubber from one rim to the other...
I'm still not sure whether to go with the 547R/547 or the Hartge Classics.
