take the door panel off and check to see if power is going to the motor if no power then you need a switch. for the tem gauge replace the coolant temp sensor that should help. for the door lock with the panel already off check and see if the links are bent or if anything is in the way.

There is NO such thing as a 1986 325is. The 325is started in 1987.*th-up*

There is no such thing as a "1986 325is"
In '86 it was called the 'es' (127hp, sport suspension)
In 1987 it was called the 'is' (168hp)

The switches your referring to on the dash...the knob with the 2 speaker figures on it is the stereo fader switch. The black and red push button with the arrow on it is the power window circuit breaker. An 86 325is? Dont exist man, at least in US anyway.

The easiest way to check what year it is, is to check the VIN on the car, the 10th spot will have a letter from A-M but NOT including "I", where A=1980 B=1981 etc.... M=1991....you get the point...so check that... ex. WBA AA13 1 - L A E57862 This vin is an L (count the dash) ie 1990.

As for you're windows I have had both my front window switches go, its a common wear item...50 bucks to replace if you DIY, and my passenger one was the first to go.

And that car is definitly an "is" cuz its 2 door, but check the VIN for the year.*th-up*

i just figured out this today :) if your driver side window wont open, try to open the passenger side a little and close it again, then try the driver side :) it works on mine !

take out the windows switches, take them apart, and clean them with rubbing alcohol. 3 of mine didn't work, i cleaned them, they all work without a problem.
