They have the wrong torque figure in there - looks like they transversed the 2 & 3 (should be 230 not 320). I think the actual number is 236 lb-ft.....but if it really was 320 - wow that would be something else!!

ya most dealers just put stuff there without even verifying if it's true. Just look at what they're saying it's fully loaded, i don't see any sunroof there ;)

Sunroof was not a listed option for the '99 model year. Mine is one of the very few:D

I went to go check this coupe...it used to belong to a member on Teutonic.ca

The ad has some errors. The car has had 2 previous owners. No cd player & no cd changer.

It's in ok shape, but it has seen track time, and it has been winter driven. I'm not sure why, but there's a 2nd rear view mirror bolted to the roof.

I'll keep looking for a decent condition, untracked coupe!

Gimp did you check the Budd's 2000 Silver M Coupe before like last year? That's the one I purchased everything looks good and it's been winter driven considering the km 76 when i got it and now 78500km after 3 months. All i know is that it's 1 owner (carfax and dealer) someone told me another guy from one of the meets came with a 2001/2002 m coupe and he own this one before he upgraded.

Hello Jeff,

I did check out your M Coupe prior to it being sold to Budds. The previous owner of this car actually had 2 M coupes at one point, and was trying to sell one of them (yours) privately for about $40k. The only reason I know this is because a colleague of mine lives near him, and I couldn't help but be distracted with 2x Silver M Coupes on 1 driveway. I didn't jump on this one b/c I'm not a big fan of silver on the E36/7/8.

All I can say is don't trust everything a dealer tells you. The previous owner of the black M Coupe from above traded it in for a 540iT at Budds. He was told that the M Coupe would be auctioned off to the US, and not resold here in Canada. He was a little shocked to find out it ended up at this no-name dealer. Anyways, I spoke to him today actually, and he said although the M Coupe is in good mechanical condition, he did have to replace a bunch of control arms, bushings, bearings, etc... He said it made a good winter car.

I've had 2 Z3s in the past, and happy with the M Roadster. I've also been to that Z3 homecoming thing they have every year in Spartanburg... I just can't help but want to add an M Coupe to the stable.

I guess this means the car for sale needs a bunch of suspension components replaced eh? Would anyone here have a sense for how much that would cost?

Probably a lot.
Jeff (AKA Crusher) took me for a spin in his MCoupe.. I am now a FIRM believer that you CAN NOT find an M Coupe that wasnt tracked. Once you sit in one, you quickly realize that these cars were built to HAUL ASS. You dont get the frills or toys that you'd find in a 5er, just superior handling and power.

But still, I'll hold out for a white on red... thats my dream.
