i have a question regarding the pioneer AVH-P6500DVD motorized lcd screen/dvd/cd/radio. there is a guy on the net on another forum selling this unit, he told me that the brain is built-in to the deck. i am pretty sure that it comes with a seperate brain which can be placed under the front seat or in the glove box. does anyone know if this model is suppose to come with a seperate brain. if so can it function without it. oh yeah, what exactly is the function of the brain, i have an idea, im not sure.

thanks in advance

Wait for the brand new Pioneer DVD unit...
I forget the name, but it is DVD/CD/MP3/CD Navigation, as well as the ability to read out certain engine diagnostics, G-forces, et cetera.
I think it retails for around 3000CDN

Yes, the brain is seperate, but VERY small. The older brains were much larger than the deck itself. The new brains tha come with the P6500DVD are smaller thant he deck itself. Brains are basically the amplification, video/audio input/output, etc.

I had the Pioneer AVH-P6500DVD ... it's a POS... not only from myself, but I've heard complaints from nearly everyone. Screen's too small too... go with a 7.5" widescreen touch display.

The largest touch screen i know of is 7". Is there a 7.5 inch out now?

oh! where's the best place for the brain? i've heard of under the passenger seat, but i think it will get in the way of the seat sliding back and forth. i like my seats at the lowest point will i have to raise the seat?
