i want to throw on some 17's or 18's and lower my car but i'm considered about eventually driving in the winter... i'll obviously put my 15's with snow tires back on but what options do i have with the suspension (i.e., how low should i go?)... the car's gotta handle the toronto winters when the time comes

I dropped my car about 1.6" well more like 2" once it settled. This past winter when it got real slushy I smelled something strange, pulled over and when I looked under the hood the fan was stuck! Snow got plowed up into the fan shroud because the car is so low.. Also the car didn't handle as well in the snow because of the stiffer springs and shocks.. my advise don't winter beat your car if it's lowered. try rent a wreck or buy a beater.
