Wow! It has been awhile since I have seen a really sweet ride! Do you have any interior shots? BTW I love the plate!

Hey Randy,
to answer your question about the 6000K xenons, they are made by K2. They were easier to hook up than the Phillips Ultinon bulbs and a bit cheaper. Displays no lowbeam failure.

I saw your car at speedorama and the Toronto car show... very sweet in person, especially the colour.

What's the supercharger brand you have in the 318?

DASC?

Was the installation expensive?

Karasir,
Yup Downing Atlanta Supercharger.
INstallation was do-it-yourself.
Was an interesting 4 day process and quite exciting..... it was a last year summer project car.

Yeah, DASC is on my next to do list with priority #1. Did you get it shipped from the States or you brought it from US yourself? Duties can be a total pain sometimes.

Also how does your 318 compare with 328/M3 acceleration wise. I know that for example, stock M3 slowly walks away from a Ti with DASC but I am not sure how a coupe would do vs a 328 coupe.

Thanks

The D/A supercharger is ok in terms of the power increase.
Yup... ordered it from the states... total cost around 6800-7000 Canadian after everything.
Ive run with a few 328 before and beat them on most occasions however... I think the 328 still has more torque despite the higher numbers that D/A claims. 0-60 times are about 6.7 for me.

TRUST ME...... an E36 M3 wouldnt walk slightly from a D/A 318ti.... it would murder it. The E36 M3 has crazy amounts of torque. The gearing is outrageous.

There isnt that much difference between the ti and the coupe in terms of speed and despite the ti having no trunk.... its not that much faster....
Trust me.... forced induction cars never put out the same power as naturally aspirated cars.

What made you decide on DASC, rather than AA or Dinan or other set-up? I've heard that BMW will cover DINAN SC in the warranty, is this correct?

318 forced injection market is very limited. Downing Atlanta is pretty much the only company as of today that makes a SC kit for m42/m44 engines. There is also Kohhman turbo kit but that's about 7000US.

Yah... DINAN doesnt make S/C for 318's nor does Active Autowerkes make turbos for 318is.
Korman makes a turbo for 318's except their power gains are horrible. Graphs from Korman produce like 184 max bhp....only a 40 hp gain..... not worth it for your dollar

Hey-
Daydream, got any more specs on the 318?? Auto/manual? See...i got a sweeet superchargerd 325, but due to some weird medical stuff I "can't" operate a clutch. Anywho, so I've gotta sell her...but whats the deal with yours?

Hey..oh ok, I can only get an auto now. :(
As for this sweet machine that I've put only 100miles on (yes, 100!!) asking $22,300. The guy before me had like $52K invested total, just under $20K in mods alone! Mechanically/cosmetically flawless...my mechanic actually wanted to buy it!! (couldn't cause he bought a boat instead). If you're interested..lemme know.
