Just a word of caution. Be careful what you guys do with your money. Depos are a good alternative if you are strapped for cash and want some lighting upgrades. But remember you do get what you pay for. I have read some bad things, and good things about depos, so just know what to expect.

Anyway, for the normal non-bmw person, they probably cant tell the difference anyway. They look good mikester

Mikester
02-09-2004, 04:45 PM
thanks man, will get good pics soon
you just need to know where to buy them from... obviously ZKW's are better, but i expected worse quality from depos by reading the reviews and im really happy

I'm with you 100%... I want the good stuff. I am buying ZKW's and I don't care if it will take me longer to save for them. I just want those lines going across the headlight, and the look of OEM.

I hope Depos are better than InPro, cause InPro is complete crap.

I got myself a ZKW now.
InPro will be for sale soon.
this pic was taken with all lights on in the room and with a flash.

(it doesnt reflect angel eyes nearly as much as on the pic)
I think it is a flash that is reflecting.

02-10-2004, 05:57 AM
SickFinga, those look pretty damn good! Makes me wish I got DDE with mine*mumble*

What sucked so badly about the Inpro's?

SickFinga
02-10-2004, 06:05 AM
InPro's are just nasty cheap
I;ve never seen ZKW upclose before I got them, and i thought InPro was shit.
But when I saw ZKW, saw the lens on it, the glass, they are just SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOO MUCH BETTER and make InPro look like complete waste of money.

R_JAY

why do i think i like the hella black lights? i think i have to see a real pair up close but after looking at all these other ones endlessly i think the hella ones look slick, it could be the hella pictures are professionally done. is it too many episodes of south park maybe? hella confused.

02-11-2004, 02:11 AM
You know what, i didn't like the hella's at first, cause i only seen them in CHROME, and i'm not a big fan of BLING!
But once i seen the black housing lights, they look pretty sexy, its jsut that the lights seem too small!
Gotta see them in person

Yes I got them from him
It should've been $50 less. He chrged me for pre-installed angel eyes, but i got them separate from the headlights.

Hella - epensive and rings are tiny

to further hyjack this thread i'll just post an ebay.de pic of the black hella's.

i'm still looking around for a regular picture of someones car who actually owns them. i didn't realize they had clear lenses (no lines on them). i'm not sure they are much more expensive than anything else. there's a GB at bimmerforums for $550USD going right now. i dunno why i think they are slick. could look silly installed, but we'll have too see.

Hmmm, SickFinga, if that is the case we owe you a refund.

What was the exchange we had on emails?

As for DEPO - you don't know how they are, til you start using them.

Projectors are lower quality, wiring is lower quality, glass is lower quality, but for the 7/10 level, they work perfectly.

... nice depo's you got there. Looks good! Just be careful putting xenons in there... the housing is prone to melting. But it looks good... good deal!

Hella's are ugly, always have been---always will be. I don't like how small the headlights are (they do it to project the beam better---according to the website), and I hate how the angel eyes look so tiny, and how they connect at the bottom instead of the top.

You *RARELY* see a car truly head on.. (eyes same level at the lights)... even when driving. The top part of the angel eyes will always be cut off because of the angle you're looking at it. With the hells the bottom's are cut off too.. .so it just looks silly 90% of the time. Plus if you plan on throwing eyelids on there, again the top part will be cut off... and the bottom part...

.. it just looses it's aggressiveness from there. It *IS* a quality built product though---I'll give it that.

I dont see why people always say the housings are more prone to melting with HIDs installed than with halogens. Halogens generate WAY more heat than hid bulbs do. If anything will cause them to melt, it will be halogens, not hids *th-up*

(the ballasts from the HIDs can get very hot mind you, but they're not inside your headlamps so no worries :))

some clarifications please here:

One - sick finga, that post doesn't say anywhere that I did or did not offer you a refund of sorts. It just says that that's what happened.

Two - Hella is just not aggresive, aka - bad.

Three - HIDs cannot melt a housing, but they CAN melt the wiring if you aren't careful, they draw a lot of juice. Don't think this will happen with Depo, but hey, anything is possible.
