What Speakers

Im sure this has been asked before..
I searched and got nothing relevant....

What size speakers are you E36 guys puting in the doors...
factory lookis like 4" cone with 1" tweeter...
can I fit 5.25" with 1" tweeter component...

what do you guys have?

The car has 5 1/4 in the front and rear!
and if you have 2 in the door, i BELIEVE its 4 and a tweet!
you should be able to fit a component in there, but i woyuld just upgrade the 5 1/4's, i just finished installin 5 1/4's all the way around in my car and the sound is SOOOOOOO much better!

well..I found my answere from a user on this board at BMW-Forums.com he said

kick panel= 5.25"
door= 1" tweeter
door= 3.5" (not in all models)
rear deck= 4"
rear deck= 1" tweeter (HK option)

The number of speakers depends on which audio trim the car came with. The premium has 8, and the HK system has 10. The 318i/is/ti versions came with only 6 speakers unless a higher package was selected, while most 325/328s basically had the premium as standard, as I have yet to see one without the 3.5" in the door.

I read some stuff that said putting 5.25 was hard...
I have the HK 10 speaker system so I thnk I might just go with the 4 sets of 4" components with 1" tweeter... I already replaced the 5.25 in the kick panel...

the onyl thing is will the aftermarket 4" components still bring good quality sound or do i need to move up to a 5.25" speaker like soldomatic325i said?

I have 2x 12JLw3 with zapco 350 powering them and I have ABSOLUTE AUDIO USA 5.25" rated for 250w in the kicks...and a zapco 150 amp waitng to be installed...

what u guys think i should do...

BTW...i was thinking of going with cerwin vega IT series.... I want cerwin vaga subs as well, later on...
