Now, raise the price by $5k and add a solid AWD system and call it the upset of the industry.

I want one, bad.

i want one too
they are only a limited few in canada.
the next srt-4 should be 0.5 to 1 second quicker because of a lsd
you could even get factory stage 1 upgrade putting the car to 240hp from 230hp and an extra 20lb-ft for 260lb-ft

Its because M3's suck, and SRT is better

Boost the power beyond stock specs on a SRT4, and I'll bet you good money it won't last anywhere near that long.

The question is.. how long will a little over worked turbo charged four banger like that last for before engine compenents start breaking down? I wonder if they offer the 100,000km warrenty...

They are coming out with an AWD version in 2006, i'm sure it will have slightly less horsepower.

I think they do, but as some Subaru STi owner's are finding out the hard way, the mechanics are very astute in determining if the clutch has been dumped hard. Once this is determined, a bill comes with the repair.
I've heard of several STi owner's already pissed to find that the dealerships aren't warrantying their clutches because of abuse. (And rightfully so).

Add 50+ Hp to these cars, and you can kiss your warranty goodbye. And I don't see why not.

These drivers all talk about their pocket rockets pushing 3-400 HP.
They don't talk about blowing their engine's after a summer of fun.

Stop talking out of your ass. Have you seen the acceleration times of a stock SRT-4? His car is modded too, so it will obviously keep up with an M3.

SRT4 is an amazing car. Period.

I would take an M5 over 4 SRT4's..... :)

Not saying the SRT4's a bad car, for the money, it's great value.

But I would not buy one of these over any current BMW.

One of these SRT4's has to put out 300 HP to stay with a M3.
That engine modifed to put out that power, with the stock powertrain, won't last long. Where the M3 could run at a track for years. Lets not even go and compare driving dynamics of the two.....

If acceleration is all that mattered, we'd all be driving SVT Cobra's....

Just came to my mind, that I'm going to go test drive one of these things. Are they available in Toronto yet?

Dodge has been doing Turboís for some time. It looks like the new 2.4L engine was beefed up to handle the increased stress of the turbo.

1984 Dodge Daytona Turbo ( 2.2L Turbo, 142hp, 7psi boost)
1985 Shelby Charger Turbo (2.2L Turbo, 146hp, 7psi boost )
1986 Shelby Omni GLH-S Turbo (2.2L Turbo with Intercooler, 174hp 12psi boost)
1989ish, 2.5L Turbo Mini Vans 150hp
1989ish Dodge Shadow. 2.5L Turbo, 150hp.

1991 Dodge Spirit R/T: (2.2 L Turbo, Intercooler, 16valve 4cycl, 224hp). was a fast car!!!!! ľ mile in about 14.5ís, and 0-100km/h around 6 seconds.

The Neon SRT-4 is no different from VW/Audi who has turbocharged a little 1.8L engine that used to produce 115hp. Both these companies have turbo history dating back to early 80ís. Audi probably has a lot more history though.

The SRT-4 would be an awesome car to lease for 3-4 years under the manufacturers warranty. :)

You have to respect dodge for putting out these cars.

anyways...the guy at the dealer told me something about a benz turbo inside for a couple more grand you get 280 hp? has anyone heard this..

Srt-4 can handle crazy power tho, he says 800hp on near stock internals!? is that even possible? Well even if it`s exagerated by double it`s a lot for "lighter" car.

2.4turbo has to have lots of power!

One thing I was thinking about is the stealth RT 340 hp and the Eagle Talon TSI.. I know that the Stealth internals like injectors and turbo can be swapped into the Talon. I wonder if you could slap in the Stealth injectors and turbo into the SRT-4.

Probably not, but worth the thought :) Would be a nice cheap upgrade.....
