I take 3 week to do that manifold, about 40 hour of works.

I think anything you make yourself with that amount of fabrication is really sweet, good work man!.

looks nice...did u do a pressrized test on it?
02-02-2004, 04:31 PM
what kind of pipe did you use, is it DOM, or just .40?

good to see ppl doin their own work. i wish i had the skill to do that.

I use schedule 40 nsp , its on natural gaz pipeline , black pipe

they also use that stuff as sprinkler lines in buildings, but that stuff has a higher nickle content?, i know its softer. i thought about building one, yours turned out real nice, i was going to make it out of DOM, because we use that for roll cages and i have a lot of scrap. keep us informed on the project, looks sweet. looks much stronger than the tubing (header pipe) that proturbo uses for there adapters. *wiggle*

I put my turbo on the manifold .

is that hole under the turbo for your waste gate? awsome $hit duder. you should get it ceramic coated, that would look pimp, not that it doesnt already.

That awsome.. cant wait to see it in *wiggle*

Is there a particular reason you chose a log manifold?
They are definatley not the most efficiant design for a turbo manifold.
Very nice work either way though!

Why would you have made it with individual tubes like headers? i think its a good design, looks like the diesel manifold. i would like to know if that hole is for the wastegate. later.

Yes an equal length manifold would have all the exhaust pulses hitting the turbo at the same time, much better for getting spooled faster.
The proturbo m20 manifold is vey good example

yes the hole under the turbo is for my waste gate, but i will do a ceramic coating.

i dont mean to sound like an ass but, that manifold needs a longer, straiter run into the turbo,my buddy is a turbo tech and im pretty sure that when you put a big turbo with very short runners ,when you hit the gas the exhaust gases wont be volumetrically efficient because there runing into each other, thus making the engine work against it self a bit.i dont mean to be a bummer, sorry.but i have to say your weld/fab skills are pretty damn good, nice piece!
