in your guys opinions what do u think are the best coilover system for e46s

right now i have acs coilovers sitting in my closet waiting to be unleashed but i am worreid that the bilsteins are better and i no they are way cheaper

the guy who i bought it off of told me i can return them only if they are still packaged so i am in a debate

wat do u guys think also include coilover systems such as dinan and anyone else

where and how much would i find the cheapest set of bilsteins pss9s if i decide to get them
thanks in advance

KW V2's you can lower it more than the bilsteins and they have more than "9" dampening settings.

the KW dampening system is tricky to use. Its not like the PSS9 where it clicks 9 times. The KW system uses the koni adjustable shocks. it doesnt click so you dont know exactly how much stiffer one side is unless you memorize how many turns you twisted on the shock.

The coilover u want is up to you... personal preference in terms of ride height, adjustablility, and ride quality

but i am in a bind and need some opinions now guys
the acs ones i have look awsome but i do not know if they perform
i think it would be a better idea to get the bilstiens since i have heard many good things about them
how much are the bilsteins

ACS might be made by Bilstein.

I know their sport springs are made by Eibach

i would like to go another two and a quarter inch
is 1800 cdn the best price i can get on the pss9s that is at tuetonic is there anywhere cheaper cause if they are that expensive it is not even worth my to return my acs ones since they were 2300 after taxes and everything plus installation

i dont think you can go two and a quarter inches on bilstiens

It looks like you got the ACS theme goin' on there so I say install the kit. Try not to second guess yourself when you buy something cause it'll drive you crazy.

ya well thats the thing if it the bilsteins are 1800 i might as well keep mine which were 2300 and they are going to do the install aswell but if the bilsteins were 1500 or around that then i would swap them up
DOES ANYONE KNOW WHERE THE CHEAPEST PLACE TO BUY THESE COILOVERS ARE IN OR AROUND THE GTA ????

I'm running H&R coils and love them. Some people do find them a big rough though.

Word of preventative maintenace: Upgrade your RSMs when installing your coilovers.

I see you have a Ci. If you want to slam your car and wheels are cover I would recommand you FK because KW can't slam like that on Ci or as much. FK is not much of a difference with KW just the brand. I am not sure about PSS9 so I can't comment on that but I know H&R make PSS9 as far as I know.

Just my .02 cent ;)

ACTUALLY you have it slightly backwards.

Bilstein used to make the dampeners for H&R coilovers

I got the H&R coilovers, and absolutely love them. Yes, bilsteins make the struts for the setup.

I'm on PSS9's and I can safely say that their ease of adjustment is what sold me on them. 5min tops to adjust damping at all 4 corners....

They might not go as low as FK or KW but you do want to keep some suspension travel don't you?

I did get them for $1400 CDN shipped from the US including taxes and shipping.

The rears are almost at the lowest setting but the fronts have another inch or so of drop.

I got them from RennSport in the US. Very good guys to buy from and they also put a very low declaired value so that customs and taxes on them were very low. The Canadian dollar is also high so the exchange rate was favourable.

See if there will be any group buys on Fanatics....

I check rennsport...they only have M3's.....I calculate that if tax, duty, brokage, using that price for E46...it is close to $2300....if I am right....

It is $1300 USD...u need to do CDN conversion, tax, brokage, duty and shipping. I have check a few bimmer forums already and they don't have any GB on coilovers.... :(

Also, try getting a hold of Ground Control (http://www.ground-control.com), they have a few Koni based coilovers. You can spec how stiff you want the ride, they'll match the shock valving to the spring rate, and can order shorter springs if you really want to drop your ride.

My next coilovers will definately be a Ground Control Track/School setup. They're $1200US for the e36 setup, the e46 set shouldn't be too far off. Give them a call.

The Ground Control setup is just a lot more customized. You tell the guys what you want to do, how you plan on driving your car, and how low you want it and they'll set you up right.

I don't know if Teutonic does installs, I thought they were only mail order.

Is it worth shipping the rims to the Cali versus doing it locally here in the GTA?
