View Full Version : is this strut bar considered as hinged or nonhinged?

what exactly is a hinged type? can somebody show me the example of hinged type? if what I posted is a hinged type then what is a non hinged type?

looks no hinged. i thought the hinged ones have well.... hinges where the bars connection plates meets the towers.

that one is non-hinged. the hinged ones have a connecting bolt (clevis) at both ends of the bar, so when they're off the car, the mount plates can swivel.

Hard to tell from pics but it looks hinged to me. Point is, as long as there's possible movement in the connecting rod then it's hinged.

E46 examples of non-hinged design are UUC, Rogue Engineeering, and OEM M3 strut bars. Hinged ones are AA and ACS and Racing Dynamics strut bars.

It's not hinged.. This looks like the AC strut bar. Made of aluminum..

Good looking... But it covered the absorber nut, that I don't like..
