Well, ordered one from crappy tire and is a direct application to my car. I get it in tomorrow, which I think should solve my very cold start ups in the morning. Anyone else tried this?

$22.00.........fits to spec on the e30. Pretty good price eh?!
Don't bother trying to find it on the website, look in the catalogue.

I bought one from Crappy Tire for my '73 BMW 2002. Best $25 I ever spent!

I keep hearing on Motoring that most cars sold in Canada have block heaters already installed. You just have to look for the wire. I could never find this wire on any of my cars.

Me and my parents once took a trip to Alberta to go skiing, and we rented a Buick LeSabre. It's usually like, -30 around there and every parking space at the hotel had a power outlet. I popped the hood, looked for 5 minutes, and found the cord coiled up behind the headlight. We returned it with the cord sticking out of the headlight and the rental guy asked us to remove whatever we installed in it!

Anyone know if E36's come with?

yeah...the E36 in canada comes with the block heater as standard option...you just have to look for it.....its on the passenger side under the exhasut manifold....thats where is plugs into the block so if you can find that then just fllow the wire
