I think this is techno voilet. I have to paint my kit and spolier so why not the whole car.I am looking for ideas on colours to go with.
I like this colour. My interior is black / grey leather with aluminum and carbon fiber accents. so it is pretty neutral. So far I like the lexus(is300) blue, black and this.............

here is the lexus blue

01-15-2004, 12:47 AM

Don't know if you like it or not but it actually was an OEM colour on E36's........here is a pic.

Very sweet E30 on the first pic. Lovin it with the color

01-15-2004, 04:28 AM
I think it is techno voilet.....Anyone know?

01-15-2004, 04:30 AM
I dont know if anyone could match this colour perfectly... but its called tectite mettalic grey from a 2004 S-Class. Absolutely stunning and fear inducing in person. Go to the Mercedes Dealership at 401 & Mavis and see for yourself, I guarantee that if you saw it in persion, that'd be the colour you lay down on your car.

01-15-2004, 04:32 AM
rear... it changes from light grey to dark grey to almost black, completely stunning.

Isn't that the chameleon paint in the first pic ?

How about Estoril Blue ?

No I think it is just a purple. I remember seeing the entire car and it did not cange colour. Do you have a pic of Estoril Blue?

01-15-2004, 05:28 AM
The first E30 pic is chameleon paint (mix of orange,green,purple...etc).I would go with the BMW Carbon Black paint like the E46 M3's. Carbon Black looks great, looks black at night and in overcast, but in direct sunlight you see the metallic blue flake...absolutely stunning..

or you could do BMW Topaz Blue paint like my car...yes i'm partial to Topaz:cool:

01-15-2004, 05:36 AM
Yours is similar to the blue I posted. Does anyone have a pic of that bmw violet?

01-15-2004, 05:53 AM
I am sure it is not kameleon paint. Here is some more pics you decide

any thoughts on a painted in flag? maybe with one shade differnt on paint or a pearlized clear coat so it is only seen in the light

01-15-2004, 05:50 PM
that looks sweet, the one with the flag. on a non-stock car that looks sick

One reason why I mentioned chameleon paint was in the first pic, you can see a slight tint of gold and green. Techno Violet is not as metallic as I recall, see E46iT 's ride he's got techno violet. There's also a Madeira Violet, check out thinair 's ride.

This one is Estoril Blue, not too good of a pic though.

I definatley see the green and gold>I figured it was a reflection.

I'm a big fan of Le Mans blue. It's an M5 color. Before selling my Bronzit 325is, that's the color I planned on painting it.

01-15-2004, 09:06 PM
Ya that i s a nice colour aswell

01-16-2004, 12:17 AM
I am still partial to that purple.

01-16-2004, 12:42 AM
Wow, I'm really feeling that purple, very classy, I'd go for that man, not too many around with that colour thats for sure... do it! *th-up*

01-16-2004, 12:44 AM
how about.............

01-16-2004, 12:55 AM
I have a pic of a car in yellow. It looks better on the e46M3

01-16-2004, 01:16 AM
that one looks really crappy.... you like the new copper color on the dodge dakotas??? that would look nice

01-16-2004, 01:44 AM
I have spent 2-3 hours looking at paint chips. I still think I like the purple in the top photo. But that blue on the M3 is a close second. Any other nice colours considering my interior

01-16-2004, 02:26 AM
here is techno voilet. It dosent look the same

01-16-2004, 02:40 AM

01-20-2004, 02:10 AM
looks close

01-20-2004, 02:17 AM
I'd post a pic of my car (for the Madeira Violet), but it always seems to photograph black, you'd have to see it in person.

It's actually kinda weird, it's violet in sunlight, blue in the evening, and black at night, unless lighted by flourescent lighting.

Even my ownership says black.

01-20-2004, 02:26 AM
well you see the pics of the e30 it seems dark but i like the look of it in the light.Do you think your car is the same colour or do you think it is custom?

Normaly the name of the color is under the bonnet on the suspension (whats the name of that thing, I'm not American) bridge????

01-28-2004, 08:48 AM
It is not my car. I emailed the owned but had no response

01-28-2004, 09:06 PM
did you say estoril?

it changes color too :)

02-01-2004, 10:08 AM
that first one is pretty sweet, the violet.

cant go wrong with a nice Black though!!! :)

02-04-2004, 06:51 AM
the violet looks good. but you posted that dealer photo and it doesn't look as good in the showroom....
the light really changes it.

the is300 is sweet...perhaps you might like the M3's colour?
