View Full Version : The perfect e30?

I was thinking that if I had more money and could do some perfect upgrades to my e30...would they be like this?

INtake
-K&N

Shocks
-

Springs
-

Chip
-JimC

Exhaust
-Supersprint

Body Kit
-Mtech*

Lights
-Euro Ellips
-Xenon Retrofit

Rims
-ACS**

Tint
- %

The Goal: Without FI or engine swap, to get the most power out of mods from an eta and make it look nice.

I could use suggestions on what should be changed, but if I were to mod an e30, I think it would go like what I wrote.

Please help.

Thanks.

*I hear pre 88 e30s can't have mtech on without a bit of cutting, this true?

*Is this MtechI or II on these pics?

**What are the rims on 6piston's car? (pic)

not necessarily, i love 6piston's car, but i wouldn't get 6000k like he did.

but he did go euro ellips and retrofit the Xenons.

but i was more concerned bout his bodykit

I have a pre 88 car with mtechII, the kit requires some refitting.
I believe the rims a Ac schnitzer .

This is what your car should look like with the Mtech kit in your color.

I have an addition to that list. seat from the rear seats from IC (I believe these are the ones with the head rest) would come very much in handy rear seat passengers and in rear collitions where the head will snap backwards possibly breaking or dislocating the disks in the neck. Anyway they look great. There was an e30 on here a while back with such rear seats, looked awesome.

I thought depending upon when in '87 the car was made the swap would be screw, screw, drill & drain shock (I think), oh whatever, can't remimber.

That HID pic is nice and Andre one is too. What did the HID driver do to get those lights, because my factor sealed beams are the most directional lights in the world. The produce muck like say 4500 kelvin or so with brights but they light is all over the place. I need info resources, books, links; I NEED INFO...please

If you want a perfect e30, look no further than Randy's E30 and Andre's E30

ok, well thats real nice.

why did u go with those choices (such as chip and diff and exhaust) over the ones i stated?

r u the first to do mtech sides with reiger front back on an e30?

it looks like a good combo.

I don't know if i'm the first one to do MTech sides with the Rieger bumpers, but I certainly haven't seen that combo before I did it. I wasn't sure if it would look good. The result was satisfactory, but the front and rear bumpers came closer to the ground than the MTech sides. That bugged me, so I went to a junk yard and found some small rocker skirts to add under the MTechs making everything even from a side profile. They happen to be from a '93 Civic hatch.

There are many choices for different products out there, so not everyone's application is the same. Exhaust-wise, my friends have had very bad experiences with Supersprint since the first versions were not stainless... plus they are rediculously over-priced for what you actually get. I also personally know the owner of Brullen, so he hooked me up with his stainless system.

The fact that my car has forced induction will explain the need for the largest, free flowing exhaust available... everything stock was scrapped including the headers. The chip was custom made because of my OBD-1/OBD-2 hybrid ECU/harness. When you mate a newer M52 transmission to the stock 3.73 E30 diff, you get a very short setup... equivalent to a 4.25 ratio. This is because the transmission gearing is different than the older Getrag 260. Couple that to 350+HP and you have a some serious wheelspin issues, that's why I went with the 3.23LSD (still felt like a 3.91). I hope this helps.

randy's car was def one of the cleanest out there, from body to interior to motor, the only thing i didnt feel was teh wheels. and especially cause they were white. but then again everyone has opinion on rims
