Well

i just bought rims a couple weeks ago from a guy in the states....
I am experienceing some light shakeing in the steering wheel at 80/km so i thought it need a balancing....I went to get them balanced and Guess what ???? they are all bent !!!!!!!!!!!

The people at the shop said it was because the tires are the wrong size 215/35/18 when they should be 225/40/18

He said i could still drive with them but it may cause suspenions problems

Can i drive with them ?????

Insight ??

The tires have nothing to do with it. 215x35 is a slightly(3.1%) smaller tire than stock. 225x40 is a slightly bigger one(1.6%)
You can definitely drive with these tires. You just have to be careful not to hit any large pot-holes since rims with low profile tires will be easier to damage.

Now, if the rims are bent and cannot be balanced then you better straighten them out asap.

there's a place called Rim Techniques in Toronto, they straigtened out and refinished my brother's TSW's for $70 a rim, they did a pretty good job. sorry I don't have the number on me.

if you wanna spend more money on bearings than on mods, take them off

If your steering wheel shakes and vibrates like crazy - TAKE THEM OFF!

I have 18's with 215/35/ZR18's and they are great. My "wheel guy" recommended this size, and i love the way it performs. I will hopefully upgrade to 19's this summer. Good luck with your wheels, i hope they aren't to bent.

Carcones in Richmond Hill Ontario.......... They are the best for fixing wheels. They have a major investment in their equipment and I know a few people that swear by them. They are just north of Richmond Hill in the Oak Ridges area. They are also a wreckers........... but don't let that scare you off:rolleyes: Guys from the Toronto Trillium BMW club have used them with awesome results.
