How do FK coilovers compare to Bilstien or H & R? I am assuming you get what you pay for, but are they better or worse?

JazzM
10-09-2003, 12:19 AM
German made, very good quality and performance.

AMI Motorsports
10-09-2003, 11:55 AM
Sorry we do not offer installs. We are a parts distributor.

No suspension available for the Audi 80/90....They are custum made to the car, as there are small differences between the North American and European models. FK Germany will NOT offer the Audi 80/90 suspensions to North America.

All sold out of E30, E30 M3, E36 M3. Next shipment does not arrive for approx 6 more weeks.

How does FK compare to the rest....They are firmer then H&R, the Konigsports use Koni Yellow inserts...Never used the Bilstiens before...FK backs their suspensions with a life time warranty to the original purchaser.

Let me know if you have any more questions.

E30 & E36 M3 kits will be arriving in about 4 to 5 more weeks.

We never had any B1 wheels. We had B2's 4x100, but they are gone now.

For the e30's, are these real coilovers? The kind you need a cage for?

AMI Motorsports

The FK coilovers are full coilover kits....not a sleave. Everything that is needed it included to install the coilovers, adjustment wrenches, anti corrosion spray.

I have attached a picture of the FK BMW M5 coilovers as a sample look.

We will be getting the E36 M3, and E30 coilovers in about 1 more week or so!!

Feel free to send me a message or an email so we can contact you once they arrive.

Dave

Hi Dave,

Here are a few facts to compare to the H&R setup:

FK has 2 models available.
Highsport - height adjustable only
Konigsport - height and dampness adjustable
Both kits come with a life time warranty.

Both FK kits can lower the car from 50-85mm (2" to 3 1/4")
H&R's max drop is 2"

The FK coilovers are stiffer then H&R, but not as stiff as KW.

Price: The FK kits are considerably better priced then H&R.
FK does have a $400 US core charge for the front strut assemblies, but this is fully refundable upon them being sent back to FK North America.

I hope this has shed some light between the two.

Feel free to ask me some more questions.

Hi Rob,

I have a 1996 328is 2 door coupe and I too am looking for suspension in the new year. I am looking for a coilover kit. Bilstein has offer me the PSS coilover kit for 1480 taxes in. Can you do anything better than that. If so great and how do I go about getting them.

Thanks

I just ordered a set of konigsports from Rob at AMI.

Shipped to my door including taxes is just under $1550 CAN which I think is a pretty good deal for both height and damping adjustable suspension, especially with lifetime warranty!

I'll let you guys know how my dealings with AMI went once I recieve my goodies. Peace T.....

Hey Greek. my FK's are costing me $70 more than the price your asking them to beat which is not at all a lot more considering the konigsports also have adjustable damping, the pss's dont. this price is incl tax and shipped to my front door. Pick them up before the sale prices are gone*th-up*

Thanks T-Spec. Actually for coilovers shipped to your door and they also have damping system sounds like a really great price. Got to pick them up after Christmas and all. This month is a money spending month

SickFinga,

We do not have the M3 Highsports, we only bring in the Konigsports simply because there is almost no call on the Highsports. In the past our customers with stock wheels have needed a 5mm spacer for the coilovers. The 5mm spacers are $38.95 per pair.

Let me know if you have any more questions.

Rob,

How much is the FK Konigsport E30 non-ABS kit (FKKKBM101) and are they in stock?

Dave

AMI Motorsports
01-06-2004, 04:06 PM
E30 Konigsports - $1449 CDN plus tax

Please note for the E30 coilovers there is a $500 refundable core charge on your front strut assemblies. This is refundable upon FK North America recieving the cores.
The reason for this is because FK purchases these assemblies BRAND NEW front BMW, and they are charged a core charge.

Once again the front assemblies are 100% BRAND NEW, and not referbished.

We just ordered the E30 coilovers, we should have a shipment in approx. 4 to 6 weeks, we will also have the E30 M3 available.

Let me know if there are any more questions.

I spoke with FK Germany, and they said because of the front strut exchange which is required to produce the E30 coilovers, they said they will only make them to order. So the only way we can get them is if we have an order for them. I am still waiting back on how they want to work the exchange fee for the front struts.

They have either the Highsport or Konigsports available.
