View Full Version : What's the largest size rotor that will fit in a 15" rim?

I have 17" M3 wheels for the summer, but in the winter I use 15" OEM alloys so I need a set of rotors that will fit 15" unfortunately. I've been offered a set of 13.5" rotors from Brembo for a great deal. Any idea if these will fit without problems?

Thanks,

Bryan

doesnt the offset also determine if the brakes/rotors will fit? as for a 13.5 inch rotor fitting in a 15" wheel i doubt it.... correct me if im wrong but dont you also need calipers or maybe brackets in order to fit these rotors? or is it a whole brake system upgrade u will be doing??
either way, i know for a fact the Stock M3 rotors/brakes/caliper which is i think 12.4 up front and 12.3 in the rears will not fit in anything smaller than a 17" wheel so i am pretty sure u will need to either get another set of 17" or maybe some 17" steelies for the winter.......oh and they do exist.....hehehehe

oh yeah are you going to be going all around or just the front brakes? if it is just the front brakes maybe get 2 crapy 17" wheels and just use them up front....it'll probably look funnie 15's in the rears and 17's up front :D

You will need calipers and carriers, and possibly new kingpins depending on the model of the brakes. And no, they will not fit 15" wheels, since the calipers won't clear the wheels.

I actually just ordered some brakes 2 days ago. In a couple of weeks I'll have 325mm rotors on the front. :D

It's about the same with e46 being MUCH cheaper to get.

e46 330 - 325x25mm rotors
e36 M3 - 315x28mm rotors

M3 ones are slightly thicker but less in diameter.

Now compare that to what I have now: 285x12mm :puke:

It was sold as a kit, came with 4 piston calipers, SS brake lines and 13.5" brembo cross drilled rotors. All for only $400! Well, since I can't use them, anyone else want to buy them? :)

What are stock size rotors on a 318?

what kind of caliper is it? is it a straight bolt on to a 318? or do you need the M3 spindles?
Thanks!

I heard 11" is the biggest rotor you can put in with a 15" rim.

WRC cars run 305mm discs under 15" wheels.
With the help of very slim calipers and wheels with lots of space.
