Ok, i got a full time job and its going great but now all I want for my year off (took a year off b4 university or college) is a CAR!!! Now i am not going to be picky because I am getting a used car for UNDER 3000 BUCKS...NOW WHAT DO YOU GUYS RECOMMEND FOR ME!?!?! It is my first car, I am pretty sure i want a manual, it has to be GOOD on gas, nice looking, between 1900-1994 about, under 3 grand to buy, reliable, good engine with good performance..decend or good for insurance..and all that SHIT...what do you guys think i shoudl look FOR!>?!?!?

Mazda 323. Never could go wrong with it, was cheap, decent on gas, and had my boomy stereo system for my pleasure.

hmmmmm, good question, well not sure what to tell you since every thinks differently about looks but it should be manual, and try to look for a 4dr. preferably jap if you want good fuel consumption as well a 4cyl. and you shouldn't have a bad time, if you REALLY want fuel consumption and quality, hit up a DIESEL Golf/Jetta, they last FOREVER and get GREAT on a full tank!

But the got MORE THEN PLENTY of TOURQUE!!!!!
If you really after speed, get a TDI (they have like 90hp!!!)
:D
Anyhow, i would then strongly recomend a factory turbo car (ie, probe, talon, mr2, supra, etc.) made in the late 80's early 90's, decent looks, and a fair amount of HP for a first toy!
Think about it (my choice would be a TSI talon, AWD TURBO, what more could you want!!)

under 3000 bucks ..... hmmmmm..... i remember if you ask niko_gt here at max. he told me once that he knows somebody who was selling E30 1988 if i am not wrong for 2500 bucks, it's got alot of milleage on it but it's good running condition .... that's of course if you want a bimmer .... other wise i would suggest 1990 to 1993 honda civic or crx in good condition should go around that much.

I would go for an e30 or get a low mileage 1990-1994 Cavalier Z24 or V6 Pontiac Sunbird, good on gas, reliable and cheap to fix should something go wrong... just stay away from 4 cyl models, too slow.

this cavalier business will never be spoken of again:huh?: the cavalier is terrible in terms of reliability. and i don't care who has one the truth must be told:D *no-no*
