ones i can remember seeing. RB25DET which was pretty nice and goes well. SR20-DET i've seen to. An RX7 motor. Anything really :-). Why not turbo your m20?

I nice swap, if you wanted to keep the Inline-4 theme, would be a JDM SR20DET engine from a S13 or S14 Silvia. Very very good engine, can handle a lot of boost on stock internals, and with ~220bhp, its already pretty powerful.

i'd rather maintain the 6 cynlinder theme he already has :)

bear in mind you can get the SR20-DET from lots of cars , bluebird, Pulsar etc..

yeah a couple of nissans came with them, our nissans are called different things to yours so i can't give ya names. Well i can but my names

Pulsar
Bluebird
Silvia

are ones i know of.

Its a nice 4 banger turbo motor which comes pretty detuned.

What motor you got in your car now?

not very far.

Unless you got big bucks i wouldn't bother going with a motor from another marque.. do an m50 swap.

186 km's? If it's 89-91 motor I wouldn't bother swaping it yet unless it's blown or something. the 168 hp M20 is a good motor! all it needs is a chip and a decent header.

zimmie: You should be able to fit a nice small block v8 in an e30.

I wonder if an NSX or MR2 engine would fit...hmmmmmmmm

Why 'ruin' a bmw with non-bmw engine when bmw has plenty of good choises to put in a e30?

Zimmie, call up my mechanic Greg at (416)265-0335.
He's always telling me that he can install engines into any of my cars for a couple grand or so. He will find and buy the engine for you as well as install it. I think he gets most of his stuff from auctions and wrecking yards.

He quoted my father, $2500~$3000 to install a new GMC V6 engine in his truck. That price included the engine and installation.

He's located in scarborough around Midland and lawrence.

your talkin bout the S14 a.k.a. Nissan Sylvia (in Japan...240SX in NA)

thats one hefty engine swap...but seriously wicked if you pull it off

why dont you try the 2JZ (supra) or RX-7...why not an E30 or E50 if your stickin wit the bimmer engines

Do a small block swap. Small blocks are cheap.

The Nissan Bluebird and Pulsar engines will not fit in the E30 because they are transaxle engines. Only the basic S13/14/15 engine will work. If possible, the S15 is the way to go b/c of it's uprated turbos and a few other parts...

$4000 will get you an S50...problem is you need to do the work yourself with that budget.
